It is February, and in the Northern Hemisphere, it is still winter. There are people in the northeastern United States that are about to experience what is being termed a ‘monster blizzard’ while people where I am are going through periods of rain, cloudy days, cold days and sunny days. For the most part, winter is known as a gloomy season.
When it is almost spring though, there is a sense of anticipation in the air–like something is about to happen, something not expected, something related to new growth. Writing can be the same way. A new story, a new essay, a beginning, a time to create something can be a very exciting time for a writer. When we are caught in the throes of writer’s block, it’s important to remember there’s always a new beginning around the corner.
Until next time, be real!
